Madrasati — Amman, Jordan

Madrasati — which means "my school" — is an innovative venture to bring together private, public and non-profit sectors for the benefit of public schools desperately in need of assistance. The initiative seeks to provide a better learning environment for children by addressing urgently needed school infrastructure repairs, improving school safety and the student environment and providing schools with access to quality learning and teaching tools. Community participation is a must: the program seeks to mobilize students, teachers, school administration, parents and other community members to be involved in every phase of the program, providing their insight and opinions, expressing their needs and expectations and contributing their skills.
