Protection of the Palmeraie — Marrakech, Morocco

Tourism has become increasingly important to Morocco, and is a major driver of the Moroccan economy. A&K Morocco is a leader in the program of responsible tourism officially established by His Majesty King Mohamed VI in 2006.

Our support for the Protection of the Palmeraie project of the Observatoir de la Palmeraie extends to planting trees to restore the delicate ecosystem of La Palmeraie, a thousand-year-old palm grove outside the walls of Marrakech, Morocco. Years of drought, building, development and lack of care are being turned around with a regeneration program aimed at planting almost a half million new palm trees over the next six years, safeguarding the future of this delightfully tranquil respite just 20 minutes' drive from the center of Marrakech.
