AKP joins 1% for the Planet
as an environmental partner

Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP) is pleased to announce that we have joined 1% for the Planet as an environmental partner. This partnership is intended to advance our impact and involve more businesses in the environmental movement.
AKP has long been committed to conservation, which is one of our four pillars. We partner with communities living on the edge of wilderness and support strategies to sustain the balance between endangered species, fragile ecosystems and economic opportunity. By positively impacting lives and livelihoods in the communities where Abercrombie & Kent guests travel, AKP helps nature thrive and cultures flourish.
1% for the Planet is an accountability partner for businesses that are ready to reject business as usual and give back to environmental partners making a difference around the globe. Started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, their members have given hundreds of millions of dollars to environmental partners to date.
With more than 5,700 business members and over 6,300 environmental partners, 1% for the Planet represents more than 112 countries and has given over US$500 million.
“The intent of 1% for the Planet is to help fund these diverse environmental organizations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems,” writes Chouinard.
