AKP partners with Direct Travel to ship
medical supplies and equipment to Zambia

The Nakatindi Health Clinic in Zambia is looking forward to receiving medical supplies worth between US$300,000 and US$400,000, thanks to AKP’s partnership with Direct Travel.

Abercrombie & Kent has a long history of working with Direct Travel, which recently hosted its first leisure conference in Chicago. As a giving-back component of the conference, Direct Travel worked with AKP to coordinate a volunteer event at a local Project C.U.R.E. warehouse. Approximately 200 people helped clean, organize and sort donated medical materials and equipment.

Direct Travel also raised funds to jointly sponsor the cargo shipment containing medical supplies for the health clinic, which provides access to healthcare for approximately 18,000 people. AKP constructed the clinic, which is open 24/7 and staffed by the Ministry of Health, in 2014.

AKP has previously partnered with Project C.U.R.E—the world’s largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment and services to doctors and nurses in more than 135 countries—to support the shipment of medical supplies and equipment to Cambodia, Myanmar, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
