Last month, AKP Botswana hosted a Kids Retreat Camp for children who attend three schools where AKP supports Environmental Education Clubs. The 30 children, ages 10 to 12, were flown to Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp, a classic tented camp located on a private concession in the Okavango Delta. Most of them had never visited the delta or been on an aircraft.
Over four days, campers received a tourist experience while learning in a fun way about the natural resources in their country. Each camp day included lessons, team-building exercises and game drives. Topics covered include Botswana’s national parks and game reserves, wildlife biology, ecosystem of the Delta, and careers in tourism and hospitality.
