EBENEZER PRIMARY SCHOOL
Just a few short years ago, the schoolchildren of Buhoma made do with two small dirt-floor classrooms resourcefully put together with the meagre materials that were on hand. The children persevered despite these lacking facilities, but it was clear their efforts deserved much better.
In 2017, the people of Buhoma partnered with AKP to break ground on Ebenezer Primary School, a modern educational campus that would soon become a beacon for the entire district. In addition to 12 new classrooms, the facilities were expanded to include a kitchen, community and dining hall, library, exploration room, lavatories and a renovated administration building.
Beyond bricks and mortar, the new campus of Ebenezer Primary School means a safe, secure environment for the school’s 225 students to grow and learn. The results speak for themselves. In 2019, the students of Ebenezer placed first in district exam results after the school’s first full year of operation. They have maintained a top-three status in the district ever since.
With continued support from our guests and collaboration with partner organizations such as the Kamukama Foundation, AKP plans to work together for the expansion of the Ebenezer campus to include improvement to the overall campus and facilities, such as larger teacher housing. We can only imagine what the future holds for the students of Buhoma — but it’s sure to be bright.
